SGA- Student Government Association
The Student Government Association (SGA) at Lake Forest Middle School is an elected student leadership organization whose purpose is to serve the students, the faculty and staff, and the community while improving personal leadership skills. SGA sponsors Spirit Week, the Thanksgiving Food Drive, the Christmas Dance, the Sun Bear Christmas party, faculty appreciation activities, the Valentine’s Dance, the Sun Bear Egg Hunt, 5th Grade Orientation, the Sadie Hawkins Dance, St. Jude fundraisers, and the Talent Show. SGA also provides Christmas presents for families and contributes to campus beautification projects.
Lake Forest Middle School’s Student Government Association is an active member of the Tennessee Association of Student Councils (TASC) and the National Association of Student Councils (NASC) and has hosted four state leadership workshops for middle school students. Lake Forest Middle School’s SGA has been named a TASC Platinum Council, a TASC Four-Star Council, and has received countless other state awards.
Sixth grade students may apply for membership in October. Seventh and eighth grade students may apply in April for the upcoming year.
