8th Grade Science Tug of War- The Battle to Win the Net Force!

The Grizzlies, Kodiaks and American Black Bears competed during the first few minutes of Science class after learning about balanced and unbalanced forces! Each class had net force in their direction at least once! It was a fun, hands-on way to connect our textbook to the real world! Too hands on for some, they got red, tired hands. :) The Grizzlies won this round!! Go Grizzlies!!!

Inertia is fun!
The students learned about forces and Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion last week. We watched videos of the old “table cloth trick” where the man pulls out the table cloth without moving the dishes. Then they tried their own version in class with a penny lab. This video is from a student impressing her family, and her dog, at home with the same concept.
